In the scheme, light is generally gentle and diffused. Cuts are made in the roof according to where paintings are hung horizontally on the walls.

The greatest manipulation of light is in the shafts (the insides of these shafts lined with mirrors, to magnify light) in the daughter tower which act as spotlights. Herein exists a playfulness, as the spotlight, naturally will not stay put and square over the display podiums. There is the idea of chasing the light as it dances around the art, as a child would chase a shadow.
