+Two towers = Father and Daughter
+Relationship between the two people is expressed architecturally
+Sleeping quarters explores this idea also

I’ve tried to integrate this idea of father and daughter in several ways.

Perhaps the most obvious suggestion of father and daughter are the two towers, one smaller than the other.

The relationship between the two is also reminiscent of that between father and daughter; two openings which align perfectly, reflecting the honesty and openness between the two- particularly characteristic of the relationship between a young, trusting girl and her protective guardian.

The way the two towers are bridged was an idea that I constantly struggled with as I wanted to explore the idea of playfulness in the way one transverses from one to the other… but eventually the idea that a clear, open link existed between the two seemed to sit better with the scheme.

Also, the relationship of father and daughter exists in the sleeping quarters, whereby the father is elevated creating a sense of privacy for both in the room, whilst allowing him to keep a watchful eye.
